Kenya Police and Telkom are poised to win the 2017 Kenya Hockey Union men and women’s Premier League titles this weekend, when the league resumes after a long break. Police need just one win in their final three matches, and could be crowned champions either with victory over second last team Kenyatta University Vultures on Saturday, or Wazalendo on Sunday. Police have won 23 out 25 matches, losing one and drawing another to tally at 70 points, 18 ahead of second-placed Greensharks. The women's title awaits the dominant Telkom, who need just a point to win a record 20th title. They face Multimedia University on Sunday at City Park Stadium, Nairobi. Telkom have won all their 17 matches played this season. They leave for the Africa Club Championship next week.

The Kenya Airports Authority has revealed that it has no title deeds for five of the country's airports and airstrips. KAA said it is not in possession of the titles for the Kisumu and Eldoret International Airports, and also lacks the said documents for Wilson Airport, Manda and Ukunda Airstrips. The stunning revelation came during a meeting between the National Assembly's Public Investments Committee and KAA's Managing Director, Jonny Andersen. Andersen was hard-pressed to produce the titles, saying that a number of them were in the hands of lawyers executing a sublease. The possession of such titles by private actors puts prime land at risk of being grabbed by land cartels or unscrupulous businessmen, besides the possibility of heavy losses for taxpayers.

The Kenyan national anthem played six times in front of the fervent crowd in Spain to mark a successful outing for the cross-country team in the 39th edition of the championships.
